CORBYN HEAD SCOOPS AA FOOD AWARD FOR 2014 

Wayne Maddern and his team have just been awarded an AA Rosette for Culinary Excellence. Wayne, originally from the Naval City of Plymouth has spent over 25 years cooking in Torquay.  
 
Wayne has previously worked at the World famous Gleneagles in Scotland, whilst he was there at the 5 AA Red Star Hotel he worked in their 2 AA Rosette restaurant. 
 
Wayne is where he wants to be and that is “on the pass” serving you.

Trip Advisor has named Torquay as 4th in their Traveller’s Choice, Top 10 Destinations in the United Kingdom. 
 
 
With the first three destinations being London, Edinburgh and Liverpool, Torquay comes in at number 4 as the highest rated resort in the country.

Anthony Rew & Rew Hotels are proud to have been asked to work with Celebrity Chef John Burton-Race, famous for holding Two Michelin Stars, on his pilot series for ITV 1. 
 
On this first, five part series Charles Large, one of the Management team of Rew Hotels assists John & his team in the Front of House. 
 
John Burton Race presents a show in which six amateur cooks compete to prepare a menu fit for the aristocracy, with one person being eliminated each day, leaving two finalists to battle it out to win 1000 pounds at the end of the week. 
 
In their first challenge, the amateur cooks must serve up a six-course meal for their country house hosts and their high society friends. John thinks he has bitten off more than he can chew when contestant Peter makes a mess in the kitchen, Miriam miscalculates her cooking times, and Andrea has a dessert disaster! 

 
 
Torbay’s Beaches Top the UK Charts 

Torbay has topped the charts for the second year in a row with the best 
beaches in the country, scooping a fantastic 15 awards – more than 
anywhere else in the country. 
 
The prestigious Blue Flag will continue to fly high over Oddicombe, 
Meadfoot, Paignton, Broadsands and Breakwater this summer. 
 
Ten Torbay beaches have also retained their Quality Coast Awards for 
being clean and safe. They are Maidencombe, Oddicombe, Meadfoot, 
Preston, Broadsands, Ansteys Cove, Torre Abbey Sands, Paignton, 
Goodrington and Breakwater.
